Burn Cottage Pinot Noir is one of New Zealand’s benchmark Pinots, and the 2022 release shows exactly why. It’s fragrant and inviting from the first pour, with dark cherry, raspberry and floral notes jumping out of the glass, backed by subtle spice and earthy complexity. There's plenty going on, but it never feels overworked or overly serious.
The palate is silky and detailed, with bright fruit, fine tannins and a savoury edge that keeps you coming back for another sip. While it’s drinking beautifully now, there’s enough structure here for those who enjoy watching great Pinot evolve over time. If you love Pinot Noir with perfume, energy and a bit of intrigue rather than big oak or heavy fruit, this is an easy wine to recommend.
