Tolpuddle Chardonnay 2025 from Tasmania's Coal River Valley captures the essence of world-class Australian winemaking.
Tight and intricately detailed, it opens with bright citrus, peach and white nectarine, layered with flint, struck-match complexity, grilled hazelnuts and almond butter. A beautiful taut mineral line runs through the palate, with preserved lemon, nougat and a pristine, sustained finish.
The vineyard, planted in 1988 on light silica soil over sandstone, produces grapes of exceptional flavour and intensity. Named after the Tolpuddle Martyrs, transported convicts who formed an agricultural union, this is chardonnay in finest form.
