Tyrrell's Belford Semillon 2017

The 2017 vintage was exceptional and resulted in Semillons of exceptional quality. Adequate rainfall during winter and spring ensured consistent water supply for the vines. The warmer weather in the new year also contributed to the perfect ripeness and condition of the fruit during harvest. The wine boasts intense citrus notes and a robust, richer, and almost chalky palate, typical of the Belford vineyard. However, it is beautifully balanced by a smooth, clean acidity, resulting in a long and enjoyable finish.
The Belford vineyard was planted in 1933. The soil is light and sandy – the consistency of talcum powder – for the top 50 centimetres. It is the northern-most of the Tyrrell’s Hunter Valley vineyards.
