A distinguished gin-gin clone chardonnay sourced from venerable vines at Fire Gully, one of the Cape's most esteemed vineyard properties. Under the careful management of Dr Michael Peterkin, each vintage reflects meticulous winemaking: hand-harvested and sorted fruit undergoes cold pressing before barrel fermentation in seasoned oak. Ten months of maturation, punctuated by fortnightly lees stirring, develops remarkable depth and refinement.
The wine presents a luminous pale straw hue with subtle greenish undertones. On the palate, white peach and melon aromas intertwine with honeyed complexity, complemented by restrained biscuit oak, citrus nougat nuances and mineral flinty characters. A wine of considerable elegance and poise.
