80% Grenache, 20% Mourvèdre from old vines in Plan de Dieu, Côtes du Rhône. The Grenache (planted 1948) grows on red clay and galets; Mourvèdre (2010) on sandy soil. Co-fermented 30 days in concrete, aged 10 months in concrete tanks and large oak foudres. Bottled unfiltered and unfined. A rich, structured wine with the depth and complexity of a young Gigondas—exceptional value from Domaine Saint Damien.
