Nestled between two dry creek beds, the HVD vineyard offers perfect conditions for Semillon with its free-draining sandy soils atop coarse river sand. Established in 1908, the dry-grown vines yield fruit handpicked in late January.
After gentle pressing, only the free run juice undergoes fermentation at cool temperatures in stainless steel tanks, where the wine remains until bottling in June.
Exhibiting a vivid green hue, the wine presents a complex nose with subtle savory notes complementing ripe citrus aromas. The palate is rich and smooth, showcasing the vineyard’s signature fine acidity and a distinctive chalky finish.
