Penfolds St Henri Shiraz 2019
* Across any 6 bottles of wine, when purchased in store.
Penfolds St Henri is a highly successful and alternative expression of Shiraz and an intriguing counterpoint to Grange. It is unusual among high quality Australian red wines as it does not rely on any new oak. It was created in the early 1950s (first commercial vintage 1957) and gained a new lease of life in the 1990s as its quality and distinctive style became better understood.
St Henri Shiraz—sumptuous and full-bodied straight from the bottle, yet clever enough to develop intriguing earthy and mocha undertones as it sits in your cellar. Crafted in traditional large vats, it avoids the heavy-handed oak treatment, letting the wine's true character shine through. A dash of cabernet may join the blend, but shiraz remains the headliner. A wine that genuinely improves with time and rewards the patient collector.
