The Head Red Shiraz 2022 blends 10 exclusive vineyards from the Barossa region, each with their own distinct character. These vineyards are situated in the Eden Valley's higher altitude, rocky, and cooler sites. The winemaking is kept simple to allow the vintage and Barossa terroir to shine through, resulting in a wine that truly captures the essence of the region. The 2022 vintage was influenced by La Nina weather patterns, resulting in a mild and cool growing season that allowed the shiraz grapes to develop powerful tannins and rich flavors.
On the palate, there is a luxurious richness and a grand texture, complemented by delicate aromatics. To enhance the wine's complexity, a small portion of the grapes were fermented as whole bunches and co-fermented with viognier.
