Charles Melton Richelieu 2014
The 2014 Richelieu is made almost predominately from Charls Melton's best single block of Grenache. A mix of whole bunch and crushed fruit was fermented to dryness and then aged in only French oak barriques. Stunning!
Winemaker Notes
Lovely ruby medium to deep colour. Sweet scents, almost strawberry or perhaps darker berries aromatic in the bouquet. A ripe but restrained sweet plum and raison flavour flows through the palate which is kept in check by a hint of acidity and some nice savoury tannins. Richly textured but smooth.
