d'Arenberg The High Trellis Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

The d'Arenberg High Trellis vineyard was planted in the late 19th century and famously trained with vines above knee height, a novelty for the 1890s. An exquisite Cabernet, it pairs splendidly with soft cheeses and can be enjoyed on its own. Aromas of ripe blueberries, cassis, violets, and leafy fragrances are lifted and fresh, with a subtle hint of spice-laced oak adding complexity to the characteristic d'Arenberg earthiness. The palate finds itself tightly woven, with fine Cabernet tannins, earth, minerals, graphite, and a whiff of potpourri; sharp acidity and tannins meld in a licorice center.
